soft aromatic poached pears in an aromatic white wine and turmeric sauce
Peal the pears, leaving stem intact.
In a small pan, place pears, both wines, syrup and spices. Bring to a boil. If needed, add some water to cover up to 1/2 of the pears.
Reduce to minimum heat. Cover the pan (a cartouche may be useful to prevent liquid from fast evaporation). Leave to cook for 15-20 min. Test with a fork if pears are ready.
Remove pears. Continue to reduce sauce until it thickens.
Serve pears with yogurt or ice cream and the remaing sauce. Decorate to taste and enjoy.
